3.5 Seekers
3.5.1 Description:
Seekers are the primary active defense bot. By deploying Seekers into a battle zone, you’ll be leaving a dangerous swarm of defensive bots that will preemptively attack incoming enemy attackers, thereby putting the attackers on defense. In addition, upon deployment Seekers will work as a sniper unit—immediately striking against enemy attack bots already deployed in a contested zone. Seeker shields are the weakest of all defense formations and while Seekers are irreplaceable as an active defense unit, their focus is limited to ground operations making them susceptible to air strikes. Seekers will only attack when provoked and will not attack enemy passive defensive bots. Seekers use the Bot Launcher that you were given when you enlisted. Upgrade your Bot Launcher to improve this formation’s survival rate, so you can conquer battle zones more quickly.
3.5.2 Battlefield Tactics:
Seekers are the special forces of the nanobot world. They are tremendously versatile defensive bots. Seekers counter-attack, performing a preemptive strike, when attacked. Placing seekers in a zone will cause them to attack incoming Zone Assault, Shockwave, and other Seekers, thereby placing the incoming attackers on defense. Because all offensive bots have weak shields compared to damage, this can have devastating results, especially for incoming Shockwave which have almost no shields. Seekers will only attack when provoked, and will not attack enemy defensive bots that try to silently enter the zone.
If you are deploying Seekers into a zone containing enemy Shockwave, Zone Assault, or Nanomissile Survivors, the Seekers will once again preemptively counter attack the attackers during deployment, placing them on defense. Seekers are the only way to take out the offensive bots hiding behind the defense in a zone, waiting to pick off any incoming defensive formations. Take out the enemy offensive bots, and your defensive bots can stroll into the zone unmolested and establish a beachhead.
Seekers have weak shields and are susceptible to air attacks from Plasma Beam and Nanomissiles. While it is a good idea to keep some Seekers in a zone to knock of that first incoming Shockwave before the enemy realizes you have Seekers, it probably won’t take them long to figure it out and launch a Plasma Beam to wipe out your Seekers. Therefore, Seekers may become your best weapon when defending against an assault. While engaged in active battle, Seekers will prevent your enemy from blindly deploying repetitive Shockwave attacks. The potential for Seekers may keep them on their toes and force them to buy ordinance to support their multiple Plasma Beam attacks, needed to clean out new Seekers you introduce during the heat of battle.
If you have Seekers in the zone, they are the first line of defense and will be the first under fire by all offensive attacks, as well as enemy Seekers.
