1.4 Threat and Aggression:

Threat is a measure of how menacing your defending forces appear in a zone. Incoming attackers must choose a target. The selection of the target is based on who seems to be the best entrenched in the zone. This gives the “Little guy” in the zone the advantage of letting their stronger friends take all the attacks as they recover from previous attacks, or while leveling up for newer operatives. Threat is largely a factor of the shields your bots poses, however threat for low-level players is significantly less than high level players, and threat level is not affected by the boosts in shields by upgrades or supporting bots. Threat can be significantly reduced using Divert bots.

Aggression is a characteristic of offensive bots. Defensive and support formations have little or no aggression. When an enemy deploys defensive and support bots into a zone, these bots will enter without fighting (seekers excluded, as they will attack if provoked). Offensive bots will jump out from behind the defensive formation in an attempt to stop the incoming defensive formations from establishing a beachhead in the zone. The more total aggression your army has, the more likely your offensive bots will be tasked with taking out the incoming enemy.

Since offensive bots are not killed when attacking the incoming defenders (excluding Seekers) all offensive bots at all levels have nearly the same aggression. Scope upgrades and supporting bots do not impact aggression. Divert bots can be used to lower your army’s aggressive behavior, making it more likely your friends will attack the incoming defense bots.
