3.3 Hardened Lattice

3.3 Hardened Lattice

3.3.1 Description:

Use Hardened Lattice to increase the shield strength of all your bots in a battle zone. Hardened Lattice bots extend their shields over your other bots in the zone, boosting those bots' shields up to 100%. Shield boosting diminishes when spread too thinly across massive armies of bots. However, as total bots decrease under attack, shield benefit per bot becomes stronger making the bots more difficult to destroy. Up to 25,000 Hardened Lattice bots can be used in the construction of the extended shields. This formation requires one Crystallizer for each deployment, and are available in the Depot.

3.3.2 Battlefield Tactics:

This formation has the shortest range of all bots, but exhibits an amazing sense of “home-turf” pride, if such a thing could exist in a machine. Hardened Lattice has the same shield strength at all levels, which equals the highest Deflector shield strength. However what makes Hardened Lattice unique is it’s bonus to defense. It can immediately double your shields at low bot levels. Hardened Lattice extends its shields over all other bots in front of it in the battle. The more bots in front of it, the thinner its shields are spread. The more deflectors you kill, the more the shields increase in the remaining Defectors. Hardened Lattice improves shields of all formations. At top formation levels, deploy roughly two-to-one Hardened Lattice to Deflector up to 25,000 Hardened Lattice bots to obtain a 100% boost to the Deflector shields. Hardened Lattice can maximize protection of nearly twice as many Zone Assault Bots or roughly half as many Absorbers. Impact is based on the shield strength of the affected bots, but protected bots cannot experience more than 100% shield bonus. This “home turf” characteristic makes Hardened Lattice a formation that can buy you more time when under heavy attack, or make a small beachhead twice as strong in the critical first minutes of an attack.
